Most blogging advice tells you what to do. Almost none of it tells you when, in what order, or how long it should take.

So you end up with 40 open tabs, a half-finished About page, and a nagging sense you’re doing this in the wrong order.

This is the schedule instead.
What Makes This Different

A Schedule, Not a Pile of Advice

No week says “work on your SEO.” Week 6 says run PageSpeed Insights, compress your images, check every post on your phone, fix broken links: four hours, done when your mobile score is above 70.

Every week tells you four things

The goal, the tasks, the finish line, and the mistake to avoid, before you make it.

  • The goal: what this week is actually for
  • The tasks, with honest time estimates and a weekly total
  • You’re done when: a specific finish line, not a feeling
  • The common mistake, named before you do it

Know if you’re actually on track

Realistic numbers for weeks 4, 8 and 13, for a brand-new site with no audience and no paid promotion.

  • Impressions, clicks, positions and subscriber counts, benchmarked honestly
  • What to check first if you’re below them, in that order
  • Why being above them isn’t a reason to change strategy
  • The page that stops people quitting at week 10
What good looks like: a benchmark table for weeks 4, 8 and 13 covering impressions, clicks, position and subscribers
Nine things that go wrong, and what to do

Nothing indexed, impressions with no clicks, stuck at position 40. Real causes, specific fixes.

  • The real cause behind each problem, not the obvious guess
  • A specific fix for each, not general advice
  • Covers indexing, rankings, cadence and burnout

Validate the niche before you buy a domain

Score three ideas across seven criteria and compare them honestly.

  • Seven criteria, each with a clear definition of what a 5 looks like
  • Compare three ideas side by side before you commit
  • Thresholds that tell you go, narrow, or rethink

The truth about 90 days, on page 4

It won’t make you money in a quarter. It will give you something that compounds.

  • What 90 days genuinely gets you, stated plainly
  • What it usually doesn’t, so you’re not blindsided at week 10
  • The real goal for week 13, where everything after it compounds

Thirteen weeks. One page at a time.

Fit Check

Is This Roadmap Right For You?

Thirty seconds, before you buy.

Good Fit If
  • You’re starting a blog and want a sequence instead of a pile of advice.
  • You started one, stalled, and want to restart with a plan.
  • You’ve got 6–9 hours a week and want them spent in the right order.

Already publishing consistently? If you want to sharpen what you write rather than build the habit, the SEO Content Brief & Topic Cluster System is the better fit.

No Spin

This won’t rank you in 90 days for anything competitive, and it won’t make you money by week 13. What it does is get you to week 13 with a technically sound blog, 12 to 14 posts, everything indexed, real data coming in, and a routine you can keep. That’s the part almost nobody reaches, and everything after it compounds.

FAQ

What People Ask First

Do I need to have started a blog already?
No. Week 1 assumes you have nothing: no domain, no hosting, no WordPress. If you’ve already started, skip ahead to the week that matches where you are.
How much time does it actually take?
Roughly 6–9 hours a week. Every task has a time estimate and each week shows its total. If you have less time, run it over 18 weeks instead of 13 rather than skipping steps.
Will I be making money after 90 days?
Almost certainly not, and the guide says so on page 4. New blogs typically see meaningful income between months 6 and 18. What you’ll have at week 13 is a sound blog with real data, the foundation that makes the later part possible.
Is this WordPress-specific?
Mostly. The setup weeks assume WordPress. Everything from Week 3 onwards (content, SEO, tracking and monetization) applies to any platform.
Can I print it?
Yes, it’s designed for it. The tick boxes, trackers and note lines all work better on paper.
