You’ve got keywords in one spreadsheet, post ideas in a Notion page, half a brief in a Google Doc, and no idea which of your published posts is quietly sinking.

That’s not a content strategy. That’s four browser tabs and a hope.

This is the file that replaces all of it.

What It Does

What It Actually Does

Most templates hand you empty columns and wish you luck. This one does the thinking with you.

Scores every keyword automatically

Enter volume and difficulty, the sheet does the rest.

  • Ranks every keyword by real opportunity, not just search volume
  • Weights commercial and transactional terms higher, they’re the ones that convert
  • Recalculates instantly as you add new keywords

Flags keyword cannibalisation

The moment two posts compete for the same keyword, you’ll know.

  • Same keyword entered twice turns the row red automatically
  • Catches one of the most common reasons small blogs quietly stall
  • No manual cross-checking required
Keyword Bank flagging a duplicate keyword entered on two different rows in red
Builds and health-checks your clusters

Every pillar topic, checked for you.

  • Flags clusters under 3 posts as too thin to work
  • Flags clusters over 8 posts as needing a split
  • Keeps pillar and supporting posts mapped together

Analyses the SERP before you write

Guessing at length is how you write 3,000 words nobody needed.

  • Log the top 5 ranking results for your keyword
  • Averages their word counts automatically
  • Sets your target at +15% over that average

Counts your meta characters live

Type your title, see the count update as you go.

  • Live character count for meta titles
  • Same live count for meta descriptions
  • Flags anything Google is likely to cut off

Won’t let you publish early

A 10-point sign-off gate built into the sheet.

  • Reads “NOT YET” until every check is genuinely done
  • Stops half-finished posts from going live
  • Ten checks, right where you’re already working
Pre-publish sign-off checklist showing 4 outstanding checks
Tells you what to do with old posts

Content decay is invisible until it isn’t.

  • Log rankings monthly, right in the sheet
  • Works out the trend automatically
  • Recommends maintain, optimise, expand, or rewrite

Is It For You

Who This Is (And Isn’t) For

A quick gut check before you buy.

Who This Is For
  • Bloggers who are publishing consistently but can’t tell what’s working.
  • Freelance writers and small agencies who brief clients’ content and want to stop rewriting the same doc from scratch.
  • Anyone who’s been told to “build topic clusters” and never got a straight answer on how.
Who This Isn’t For

If you haven’t published anything yet, start with the 90-Day Blog Growth Roadmap instead. This system assumes you’re already writing and want to do it deliberately.

The Honest Bit

This won’t write your posts for you and it won’t rank you overnight. It’s a system for making better decisions before you write and better calls after you publish. That’s it, but that’s the part most people skip.

FAQ

Before You Buy

Will this work in Google Sheets?
Yes. File > Import > Upload. All formulas, dropdowns and conditional formatting carry over. It also works in Excel, LibreOffice and Numbers.
Do I need a keyword research tool to use it?
It helps, but no. You can pull volume and difficulty from any tool you already use, or work from Google Search Console data you already have for free.
Is this a course or a template?
Neither, exactly. It’s a working system: the sheets calculate, score and flag things for you. The How To Use tab teaches the method behind it in about ten minutes.
Do I get future updates?
Yes. Any updated version goes to everyone who’s bought it, at no extra cost.
What if it’s not for me?
It’s a digital file, so I can’t offer refunds after delivery. If you’re unsure whether it fits your situation, email me first at theardentblogger@gmail.com and I’ll tell you honestly if it doesn’t.
